people后面用is还是are

    people含义是“人民(群众)，民族”，谓语动词多用单数形式，后面加is。people含义是“人，人们”时，谓语动词用复数，后面加are。

    详解    1．people作“人”讲时，是集体名词，无单数形式，本身代表复数概念。people作主语时，谓语动词须用复数。

    （1）指一般的“人”。如：

    People use Mr., Mrs. or Miss with the family name. 人们把先生、太太、小姐与姓连用。Streets crowded with peoples. 挤满人的街道。
