other
other可作形容词或代词，做形容词时，意思是“别的，其他”，泛指“其他的(人或物)。例句：

He has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is aworker。
他有两个女儿，一个是护士，另一个是工人。
the other
The other后可加单数名词，也可加复数名词，此时的other作形容词。例句：
Onthe other side of the street，there is a tall tree。
在街道的另一边，有一棵大树。
Mary is much taller than the other girls。
玛丽比其他的女孩高得多。
another
another表示“总数为三个以上中任意的另一个”，表示泛指。例句：
Time is another important consideration.
时间是另一个需要考虑的重要因素。
His wife found out he'd been carrying on with another woman.
他的妻子发现他和另一个女人勾勾搭搭。
I generally get what I want one way or another.
我一般总能想方设法得到我想要的东西。
others
others，泛指“另外几个”。用作形容词作“别的，其他的，另外的”解时，常用来修饰复数名词或不可数名词，如前面有this，that，some，any，each，every，no，none，one等词时，也可用来修饰单数名词。例句：
Some of the studies show positive results, whereas others do not.
有一些研究结果令人满意，然而其他的则不然。
Two buildings were destroyed and many others damaged in the blast.
